Los Olivos
Los Olivos
Los Olivos is a bucolic hamlet of just over 1,000 residents which often doubles in size on weekends and holidays when visitors flock to the historic downtown area to explore dozens of friendly wine tasting rooms and to begin their Foxen Canyon Wine Trail adventure. The downtown area dates back to the late 1800s and was used as the backdrop for the 1986 movie, ‘Return to Mayberry’ because it offered the most quintessential, authentic small-town scenes for filming. You may also recognize the Los Olivos Wine Merchant restaurant from the iconic scene in the 2004 hit movie, ‘Sideways.’
Los Olivos offers family-friendly neighborhoods, expansive vineyards and ranches, horse properties and many custom homes. This is a very casual small-town atmosphere where you are encouraged to come as you are: boots, mud, horse, bike, jeans, farm truck or G-Wagon…everyone is welcome.
Featuring world class lodging and dining with The Fess Parker Inn and the reimagined Auberge property at the former Inn at Mattei’s Tavern, visitors are always welcome to stay in Los Olivos and experience the calm and rejuvenating qualities of country life.
